[Album Review] Oh Wonder – Oh Wonder

Gosh, where to even start? This band is now one of my favorites. A year ago, the English duo Josephine Vander Gucht & Anthony West, better known as Oh Wonder, made the extremely generous decision to start releasing one song a month for an entire year, in anticipation of their debut, self-titled album. I don’t know of another case where that’s been done before like that, a really smart marketing move, it’s made me slowly fall in love with them!

And it’s very rare that I’ll make the following statement and really, truly mean it, but it’s the case for this wondrous band: I love (not just like, but LOVE) every single song from their album! Every new month that has passed I haven’t had to worry in the slightest that the new song they released wouldn’t be as good or better than the last. It’s extremely comforting and nice to have a musical artist be able to do that for you. For the past year I’ve known that every single month I would be consistently getting a new favorite song pretty much!

So, really, I don’t even have to do a song-by-song review, because all the songs are amazing lol, just go listen to the album!

I’m also most likely going to buy the album, even though it leaked today, and its official release date is tomorrow, Sept. 4. I know, “Ha ha, you’re buying music??” Yep, I am, this band deserves it!
